Michael Vice

Michael is an impact finance specialist based in London. He is the Founder and Creative Director of Wineskins Ltd, a firm specialising in the design and intermediation of bespoke impact finance vehicles. His role is to help partners imagine, design and build impact-aligned financing structures using a blend of private, public and philanthropic capital, to address critical livelihoods and ecosystem challenges across the globe. Michael is also Co-Founder and Director of the Nature for Water Facility, which assists local partners to solve their water security challenges by designing and creating long-term, place-based, partner-led investment programs. In the last decade, Michael has played various roles in the creation and/or operationalisation of +50 funds, facilities and structures for impact, including the mobilisation of over $1 billion for climate, water, energy and biodiversity. He has working experience in over 20 African countries and many other countries across the Global South. He is a registered Professional Engineer, with a Masters of Engineering in Sustainability and Systems Thinking (UCT). Michael was part of the inaugural cohort for the Impact Finance Innovations Programme at the University of Oxford’s Saїd Business School, where he is Guest Faculty. He has a Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute, and is a Co-author of Blended Finance and Catalytic Capital for the Certificate in Impact Investing via the CFA Society of the UK.
